There are a lot of security threats out there but if your computer is set up correctly you should not have any problems. The greatest concern with computer security is that ID theft is becoming more and more of a problem these days. This is a good illustration to use regarding computer security. If a burglar is driving through a neighborhood looking for something to break into he will examine the houses to see which one is an easier target. If he comes to a house with burglar bars on the windows, an alarm company sign outside by the door and a big loud dog he will bypass that house. That type of house would be a hard target. He will choose a house in a dark area with minimal security. That is a soft target. Computers are the same. Hackers look for soft targets. If your computer is properly secured and you use good security habits then you have nothing to worry about. You have made yourself a hard target.
If computer security is a concern for you I offer security seminars for individuals and groups. I can sit down with you and go over all of the areas that you need to be aware of so that you don’t have to fear computers and the internet. They are to be enjoyed and used to make life easier. But, if you are not set up securely and wind up in a situation of identity theft it can cost you a lot of time and money to get it all straightened out. A computer security consultation is a small price to pay for peace of mind and well worth the cost.
